Description
We are seeking a RetellAI voice consulting specialist to diagnose and resolve IVR navigation issues in an outbound AI calling project.
This is a short-term consulting engagement with potential for ongoing advisory work.
Project Context
- Outbound calls are placed directly via RetellAI
- Calls are triggered by GoHighLevel
- The agent must detect when it reaches IVR systems and navigate them using DTMF or alternative mechanisms
- We are calling many different IVRs with inconsistent timing, prompts, and behaviors
Important Note (Please Read Carefully)
Twilio-only experience is NOT sufficient for this role.
We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on RetellAI implementation experience. Generic telephony or Twilio experience without RetellAI production usage is not a fit, so please do not apply if this is you.
Current Issue
We are using the Conversational Flow method, and are not able to successfully trigger the Press Digit node using the "global" trigger, so we are experiencing disconnected calls and other undesirable behavior due to this.
What We Need Help With
- Review and debug our RetellAI conversational flow
- Identify why the native Press Digit node is failing
Recommend best practices for:
- IVR detection at scale
- Propose robust patterns that work across IVRs
- Participate in an initial live screen-share debugging session
We are open to non-standard or hybrid approaches if they are more reliable than the native node.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven, hands-on experience with RetellAI in production
Deep understanding of:
- IVR systems and edge cases
- DTMF behavior in outbound AI calls
- Retell flow execution, timing, and node behavior
- Comfortable debugging live and explaining failure modes clearly
Engagement Details
- Short-term, hourly consulting
- Immediate start preferred
- Additional consulting available as needed
Please include in your proposal:
- Your specific RetellAI experience (not just telephony)
- Examples of IVR or DTMF work done within Retell
- How you would approach diagnosing this issue
Thank you, and we are looking forward to hearing from you!
