Job Title: HVAC Technician Location: Nassau, The BahamasDepartment: Engineering / MaintenanceEmployment Type: Full-Time Job Summary The hotel is seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Technician to join its Engineering & Maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout the hotel property. This role is essential in ensuring guest comfort, system efficiency, and compliance with safety and operational standards. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, inspect, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioners, chillers, split systems, package units, ventilation systems, and exhaust fans. Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner. Respond promptly to HVAC-related service calls, including emergency repairs. Monitor system performance and make adjustments to improve comfort and efficiency. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service reports, and equipment records. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, hotel standards, and local building codes. Coordinate with the Engineering Manager and other maintenance staff to support overall hotel operations. Assist with inspections, audits, and system upgrades as required. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience as an HVAC Technician, preferably in a hotel, resort, or commercial environment. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical controls, refrigeration, and mechanical components. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC equipment efficiently and safely. HVAC certification, technical diploma, or trade certification is a plus. Basic knowledge of safety procedures, tools, and equipment used in HVAC maintenance. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physically capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in confined or elevated spaces. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed. Preferred Skills Experience working in tropical or coastal environments. Familiarity with energy-efficient HVAC systems and preventative maintenance programs.
