Position: Substitute Science Teacher Start Date: Immediate Duration: Until the current teacher returns from medical leave, with the opportunity to continue in additional substitute or support roles as they arise. About the Role We are seeking a capable and enthusiastic Substitute Science Teacher to step into an immediate vacancy while the regular teacher is on medical leave. The successful candidate will provide consistent, high-quality instruction to students in grades 7-12 and help maintain continuity in learning during this transition period. Following the return of the classroom teacher, the selected candidate will remain on our substitute roster and may be offered additional roles or assignments as needed throughout the school year. Responsibilities Deliver science lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives. Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Monitor student progress and provide appropriate feedback. Manage daily classroom routines and expectations. Collaborate with administrators and colleagues to ensure smooth continuity. Perform other duties normally carried out by the regular classroom teacher. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; background in Science preferred. Valid teaching certification/licence in The Bahamas (or eligibility for certification). Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience is an asset.
