REPORTS TO: Directly to the Teller Supervisor and indirectly to the Marketing and Member Services Manager and the Credit Union’s CEO. Direct Reports: None GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Performs basic cash receipt and payment services in a professional manner. The employee must fully comply with the Union’s Security Policies and the Union’s Anti- Money Laundering (AML), Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements. Additionally, the Teller is required to uphold the Union’s Customer Service Standards. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Daily Continually refers new customers and cross sells all the Union services. Receives cash and cheques for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, examines cheques for proper endorsements, examines cash for counterfeit under UV counterfeit detector and enters deposits into computer records. Processes withdrawals; pays out money after confirming customers balances, verify signatures, obtain an authorized ID, ensures approval on all transactions over Teller’s limit before processing, while keeping cash limits within the limits set by the Union. At the end of each shift balance cash drawer with speed and accuracy and compare totaled amounts to the system generated balancing sheet. Reports discrepancies to the Teller Supervisor or Management. Ensures that Source of Funds (SOF) are prepared and authorized before the transaction is accepted. Report all suspicious transactions to the Teller Supervisor. Responsible for securing drawer/till keys, stamp and customer receipts. Locks away his/her float daily under the supervision of a Lock-up Officer. Responsible for processing ATM Deposits while ensuring dual custody is always adhered to. Forwards all his/her clearing cheques to the Teller Supervisor or designate by the specific deadline daily. Sells all excess and US$ cash to Sub Treasury daily. Strive to achieve error free work OTHER DUTIES Assist with filing of the branch’s and department work. Assists supervisors whenever necessary to ensure the completion of the day’s Assists with other duties in the department, to ensure proper completion before leaving for the day. Cross trains in key positions to back up during absences. Ensures that the Teller station is properly stocked with forms, receipts etc. Ensures that his/her wicket is always clean and tidy. The Teller performs and assumes any other duties/ responsibilities as assigned by the Teller Supervisor or by Management. 3.0 CUSTOMER SERVICE: 3.1 Demonstrates ownership of complaints voiced by customers. Record details of the complaint. Ensure that there is a resolution within 24 hours or the agreed to time frame using your authorized authority or by referring situations outside of your authority. Where appropriate, apologize to the customer when they are inconvenienced in any way. 3.2 Ensure that every customer interaction reflects the Union’s customer service standards: Smile Greet the client by name Maintain eye contact Help the customer, ask about other banking needs, offer additional products or services Thank the customer Click here to apply online
