JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: BAR TENDER RESPONSIBLE TO: RESTAURANT MANAGER/OWNER/OPERATOR DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS Job Summary: Bartenders must provide efficient, Clean and member-driven service. They must clearly understand drink menus and be able to describe and sell food, wine, and cocktails to their guests. Bar tenders mix and serve alcoholic beverages based on customer requests. BARTENDER RESPONSIBILITIES Key Responsibilities: Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently and professionally. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar with an adequate supply of liquor, beer,wine,mixers,garnishes, ice, napkins,straws,glassware, and other accessories. Engage with guests in a friendly and personable manner, creating a positive experience. Dispense alcohol responsibly, knowing when a customer has had to much and cut them off for their safety and protection. Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately. Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Collaborate with the rest of the team to ensure smooth bar and dinning operations. Suggest and upsell drinks and menu items when appropriate. Perform Inventory on arrival and before you depart each shift. This included any spillage, breakage, or cancellation. You are responsible for ensuring the necessary tools are available for use. Keep the inventory well-stocked by anticipating demand based on seasonality and local events. Coordinate daily supply inventory for bar an submit orders to the supervisors; assist with receiving deliveries. Complete order sheet for items needed at the end of the week to stock for the following week. Know alcohol pairing & mixing and how to prepare cocktails, drinks & shots Take food and beverage orders from customers or servers and serve drinks according to the recipe or as requested, paying attention to detail. Bartenders must be trusted to measure the appropriate amounts of liquor for different recipes. Open and maintain tabs throughout the shift, ensuring all drinks are entered in the P.O.S. before serving. Handling cash and/or credit card transactions and processing payments for drinks or meals. Planning bar menus with the owner/Operator Preparing creative cocktails for seasonal events. Ensure proper and accurate weekly inventory of the bar, keeping in mind the par required for popular items. Prioritize personal hygiene an grooming, which are essential to good presentation. Report incidents to management as soon as practical. Perform side duties during lull periods. Key notes: No idle Assembly. Your guests should be your main priority. No smartphones (smartwatches ) Television and music should be tuned to entertain customers at the bar and restaurant, not for staff entertainment(No profanity) No one other than on duty employee should enter the Bar area. Always remember to smile. Keep abreast of all happenings on the island/spots to recommend. You are an ambassador of Daddy Joe’s and want to make your encounter with any guests memorable. Remember to ask if they would like to sign the Guest Book/refer to Trip Advisor if necessary. Failing to adhere to the above responsibilities will result in disciplinary actions. Qualifications/Attributes Proven experience as a bartender in a busy bar or restaurant setting. Knowledge of various beverages, cocktail recipes, and bar equipment. A team player with Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to multitask, patient, stay positive, and remain calm under pressure. Certification is a plus. Click here to apply online
