Position Summary: Oversees and monitors Aquatics and Island and Land Tour programs at all Royal Caribbean’s Private Destinations. To ensure total guest experience achieved through delivering a flawless program at all levels ensuring the maximum safety of guests and employees while enhancing product delivery, generating revenue streams and ensuring optimum knowledge shared with all employees as it relates to Rescue, Safety, Maintenance, Risk, Guest Satisfaction and compliance. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Monitor application of safety standards in training, tour guiding, maintenance of equipment etc. Proposes changes of existing standards or implementation of new procedures when needed to improve safety efficiency. Measure, improve and monitor all product delivery as it relates to RCI’s land and Island tours ensuring tour descriptions and delivery are accurate, provide a superior guest experience. Monitor delivery of training programs for Aquatics staff members such as rescue, safety, maintenance and any other area that involves liability of any risk. Inspect and monitor the guest end product and look for enhancement and efficiency Monitors safety of guests and employees on tours and PD facilities; analyzes incidents and accidents in order to identify ways to prevent them and improve future overall safety. Oversees working conditions, rescue gear and maintenance equipment available. Analyze equipment cost replacements and oversea vendor contracts to ensure preventative maintenance is effective and executed Monitors tour vendor operation and addresses safety or quality concerns. Oversees hiring process documentation, to ensure essential qualifications are met for each position in all Private Destination Monitors ordering and purchasing of rescue and maintenance gear if needed, also logistics of the same. Shall have oversight and act as auditor for the correct and timely presentation of the Investigations and resolution of incidents in accordance with SQM Workplace Safety. Provide Guidance to the investigation team as appropriate ensure the incident investigation is completed in compliance with the investigation policy and procedures Ensure the investigation is conducted appropriately for the severity of the incident Participates in planning, development and implementation of projects together with PD management. Monitors tours on a rotating basis in order to constantly review quality control Inspects new excursions in ports as directed by the Shore side Excursion Department. Manages the financial budget for the assigned area, including the successful identification of expense reduction through cost control. Develops and executes tactical plans to achieve financial targets Partners with Marketing to ensure all Aquatics, Activities and Land Tours are well represented and all collateral associated with such meets Company Standards Assess rescue procedures on a regular basis, research for updated information concerning rescue techniques and strategies. Cooperates with Tour Operators in the ports. Reviews quality issues, future operations and previous cruise comments to incorporate efficiencies Monitors tours on a rotating basis in order to constantly review quality control.. Manages the financial budget for the assigned area, including the successful identification of expense reduction through cost control. Develops and executes tactical plans to achieve financial targets Financial Responsibilities Private Destinations budget planning and management. Applies expertise in order to ensure performance stays within the bounds of the designated budget and with regulations and where possible, best corporate/industry practice. Provides input on Revenue generating opportunities and partners with shipboard Leaders and teams to market all Island revenue tours and revenue generating activities. Pro actively makes recommendations for cost savings Qualifications: College bachelor degree preferred Lifeguard instructor certification. Minimum of 5 year experience in a management position in tours, water-sports, amusement/water park, resort, sales, hospitality, customer service or similar field. Knowledge and Skills: Previous exposure to international environments strongly preferred. Previous experience in water sport/amusement parks/tours safety planning and procedures. Demonstrated leadership capabilities Effective verbal and written communications skills. Ability to write Standard Operating Procedures for large Organizations Computer literacy in MS Office, purchasing and maintenance systems, accounts payable, email, Internet etc. Leadership techniques and training methods. Knowledge of policies and practices involved in the human resources function. Ability to supervise international staff in a positive and productive manner by motivating, developing, training and educating all all aspects of the operation. Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures – this includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and co-workers. Physical Demands: All island employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency. Must be able to stand in the sun and endure external elements during work assignment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work Environment: Outdoors may be required to walk in extreme humid and hot conditions.
