VACANCY FOR CALL CENTRE OFFICER REVENUE COMPLIANCE & ENFORCEMENT UNIT MINISTRY OF FINANCE Applications are invited from suitably qualified Bahamians to fill the vacancy for Call Centre Officer, Revenue Compliance & Enforcement Unit in the Ministry of Finance. Requirements for the post: Applicants must possess: “Minimum of two (2) BGCSE subjects at grade C or above or equivalents including English Language and Mathematics.” Confidentiality: The Call Centre Officer, while conducting their duties under the various pieces of legislation, will regard and deal with all taxpayer information as secret and confidential, and will not at any time divulge in any manner any taxpayer information or other related matters either during or after leaving the service of the Government, save as authorized by Ordinance. Competencies/Skills Required: i. Excellent verbal and written communication skills ii. Computer skills iii. Excellent computational skills iv. Good time management skills v. Ability to work with limited supervision vi. Diplomacy and tact vii. Negotiation skills Post Summary: Perform duties associated with the assessment, collection and administration of Real Property Tax. Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the post include: i. Calling taxpayers for the collection of Real Property Tax. ii. Meeting and interviewing taxpayers and third parties relative to objections, complaints and payment of their Real Property Tax. iii. Assisting the Supervisor of Real Property Tax in matters relative to outstanding real property taxes. iv. Monitoring and addressing incoming queries relative to property tax on the Real Property Tax Correspondence email. v. Filing and tracking of incoming objections. vi. Entering data for Real Property Tax in the Revenue Enhancement Unit. vii.Performing, from time to time, other duties in keeping with the position not specifically detailed in the job description. Salaries will be competitive and based on years of experience and qualifications. Successful candidates will be appointed on contractual terms of two (2) years (with gratuity payable upon satisfactory completion of the contractual period).
