Job Summary Performs the daily maintenance and operation of all Animal Life Support Systems, Waterpark systems and other water features throughout the facility. Helps to ensure the highest water quality and safety standards for healthy and sanitary conditions for all animals, guests and staff. Plays a supportive role in marine education and conservation efforts. Main Duties & Responsibilities All the qualifications for Mechanic Helper, in addition to the following: Maintains, troubleshoots and resolves Water Quality system problems in respective areas of responsibility. Performs necessary water tests and analysis, utilizing information to make necessary adjustments. Make suggestions for improvement in respective areas of responsibility. Ensures chemical par levels in respective areas of responsibility are maintained and safe handling procedures are followed. Interprets mechanical data and takes corrective action. Must be able to perform complete emergency procedures relating to all Water Quality systems. Acquire expanded knowledge in Water Quality systems through participation, listening, observation, and learning resources provided. Interacts with guests by providing courteous and professional information. Performs physically demanding work involving bending, lifting and climbing to various heights. Continuous personal and professional development must be maintained. Report for duty at scheduled times and in proper uniform. Must be available for any shift necessary. Maintain a sound knowledge of the Company’s facilities and related services. Develop a professional approach to the career and function as a team member showing consideration, tolerance, cooperation, reliability and the ability to accept constructive criticism. Requirements High school diploma or general education diploma Pool certification (AFO/CPO) Must have technical certification in all or any of the following areas, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and/or automation, with a willingness to continue this education Excellent health and physical condition Positive attitude and strong work ethics Must be flexible to work shifts, holidays and weekends Skills and Abilities All the qualifications for Mechanic Helper, in addition to the following: Thorough understanding and application of mechanical systems, pump installation and maintenance, automation and control systems, water chemistry, electrical systems, water circulation and filtration, plumbing techniques, ozone systems, air compressor systems, water ride and slide systems.
