Job Description

Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant

  • Tracking project cost for projects above $100,000
  • Providing project cost analysis as requested
  • Maintaining the capital work order process (This involves opening preparing costing analysis, and closing work order files)
  • Overseeing the rechargeable and internal work order process
  • Overseeing the Fixed Asset Register
  • Maintaining the work in progress reconciliation report
  • Overseeing the Sundry Accounts Receivable Register
  • Coordinating financial arrangements with customers (capital contributions)
  • Ensuring timely posting of the General Ledger
  • Reviewing General Ledger Control Accounts reconciliation
  • Assisting with the preparation of the annual budget
  • Assisting with the observation of inventory counts
  • Assisting with the review of Salaries vs Overtime analytical report
  • Assisting with the review of of the bank reconciliation reports from Eleuthera and Abaco
  • Overseeing the accounting aspect of Staff Accountant, Accounting Officers and General Ledger Officers
  • Assisting in coordinating the corporate annual audit and project audit
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors
  • Assisting in preparing the business plan for development 
  • Assisting in establishing and maintaining written procedures for the department
  • Managing subordinate staff and administers discipline. Conducting performance appraisals
  • Recommending specific training for subordinate staff

Job requirements include but not limited to:

  • A minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, with accounting certifications of ACCA/CPA or equivalent qualifications
  • Require 5 years of experience in a corporate financial environment or in a similar management position
  • Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Sound knowledge of Financial Accounting software and spreadsheet applications
  • Sound knowledge of project management and related job costing system
  • Ability to analyze financial reports
  • Ability to troubleshoot accounting processes as they relate to financial and job costing; software and the system of internal control
  • Good judgement and sound reasoning ability
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Good time management skills
  • Computer knowledge and proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Leadership and management skills
