Job Description

Job Title: Accounting Officer

A vacancy exists in the Company for the position of Accounting Officer, Accounting, Budget & Management Reports

The incumbent will achieve Company objectives by:

  • Creating month-end and year-end adjusting journals;
  • Overseeing the input of financial data into the General Ledger;
  • Ensuring all monthly accruals are journalized;
  • Ensuring the General Ledger is updated accurately and on a timely basis;
  • Ensuring month-end/year-end closings are executed accurately and on a timely basis;
  • Performing month end closure
  • Preparing, reviews and sort trial balance;
  • Preparing month-end and year-end financial statements for manager’s review;
  • Performing year end procedures;
  • Assisting with the update if the budget in the General Ledger;
  • Maintaining and conducts training of the Chart of Accounts
  • Assisting with system queries
  • Reviewing expenses for inaccuracies;
  • Conducting performance reviews for subordinate staff.

Job requirements include but not limited to:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualifications;
  • Requires 4+ years of financial reporting;
  • Good judgment and sound reasoning ability;
  • Sound knowledge of cost and managerial accounting and statistics;
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • Computer skills and the ability to operate standard office equipment
