Job Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for providing management direction and leadership to ensure that the facility is well operated and maintained in a safe, reliable, and economic manner consistent with site contracts, permits, and applicable rules and regulations. Must be able to communicate with all levels of client management in verbal & written correspondence.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following; other duties may be assigned as needed:

  • Responsible for overall Operation and Maintenance of the facility in a safe manner and ensures that a safe work environment is provided to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.

 

  • Supervises the Operational workforce ensuring that subordinates are at all times (during working hours) gainfully employed in the maintenance of the resort’s equipment and systems.

 

  • Sets work tasks for subordinates and monitors their progress; ensuring good workmanship and quality standards.

 

  • Ensures compliance with all company policies, procedures, and commercial commitments.

 

  • Provides leadership and directions to enforce DTEC programs and activities providing a work environment that promotes effective goal accomplishment, productivity, and morale.

 

  • Optimizes facility performance through appropriate utilization of manpower, equipment, supplies and external support.

 

  • Provides coaching, training, and development opportunities for the team; ensuring appropriate skill sets are developed and maintained.

 

  • Establishes procedures and controls managing all activities conforming to established budgets.

 

  • Provides the interface and direction for contracted personnel.

 

  • Communicate effectively with the site staff, management, customers, vendors, and outside agencies.

 

  • Demonstrate effective management skills; meeting or exceeding facility goals and objectives.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

Demonstrate knowledge of all facets of facility operations, HVAC and resort facility systems.  Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, electrical diagrams, write routine reports, solve practical problems, make competent decisions in emergency situations, clearly communicate tasks and needs, and training of other personnel.  Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. 

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  1. 10-15 years of experience working in a hotel, resort, or casino environment.
  2. S. in Engineering or equivalent experience with knowledge of HVAC, boiler plant design and operations, chilled water systems, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and safety procedures.
  3. At least three years’ experience in utility or heavy industry as operations supervisor, or managing supervisors and hourly-paid operations workers.
  4. Has a diverse background with strong technical, business, and managerial skills. Decisions made based on inputs provided by superiors, peers, and subordinates; consistent with company goals.
  5. Computer literate: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel or similar software, and familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of work process planning and proven experience in effectively dealing with all level of personnel, staff, business partners and clients is highly desired.
