JOB SUMMARY
The Painter at Celebration Key is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the aesthetic appearance of port facilities, and related structures. This includes preparing surfaces, applying paint, finishes, and coatings, and ensuring that all work meets safety and quality standards. The painter ensures a clean, professional, and welcoming environment for passengers and staff.

The Carnival Grand Bahama Investments Limited (CGBIL), a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc, is seeking a Painter.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Painter is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
1. SURFACE PREPARATION
· Prepare and clean various surfaces, including metal, concrete, wood, and other materials.
· Power wash or scrape away old paint, dirt, and debris.
· Sand surface and apply primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
· Repair cracks, holes, and rust on structures and surfaces prior to painting.
2. PAINTING AND COATING
· Apply high-quality paint, coatings, and finishes to a wide range of surfaces such as terminals, docks, fences, and bridges.
· Use specialized techniques for different materials (metal, wood, concrete, etc.) and ensure that finishes are weather-resistant, particularly in marine environments.
· Apply non-slip coatings to walkways or safety zones as needed.
· Refinish and restore painted surfaces, ensuring uniformity and a professional finish.
3. MAINTENANCE OF EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS
· Use brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to apply paint and coatings.
· Maintain tools, brushes, and spray equipment to ensure they are clean and in good working condition.
· Mix paints and other materials to achieve the desired color and consistency.
4. SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE
· Adhere to safety regulations, including the proper handling of hazardous materials such as solvents and paint thinners.
· Use safety gear such as gloves, masks, and goggles to avoid health hazards.
· Follow all relevant environmental guidelines to protect the surrounding area, especially the water and marine life.
5. INSPECTION AND QUALITY CONTROL
· Inspect painted surfaces for defects, uneven finishes, or areas that need touch-ups.
· Report any significant maintenance issues or damage to structures and recommend solutions.
· Ensure that all painted surfaces maintain their protective qualities in harsh weather conditions, especially given the saltwater environment near ports.
6. COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION
· Work with other maintenance crew members and port management to prioritize and schedule painting tasks.
· Coordinate with cruise management to minimize disruption to operations during painting projects.
· Communicate with management about project progress, any challenges faced, and material requirements.
7. GENERAL MAINTENANCE
· Assist in general maintenance tasks at the port, including minor repairs and touch-ups on various structures as needed.
· Ensure that the cruise port always maintains an inviting and clean appearance for cruise passengers.
· Painter may from time to time be called upon to perform other duties around the port.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience in painting and maintenance, ideally in an industrial or maritime setting.
· Skills: Knowledge of various painting techniques, materials, and safety protocols. Ability to work at heights (using ladders, scaffolding, etc.).
· Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and in a physically demanding environment.
· Certifications: Celebration Key may require additional certifications related to safety, working at heights, or handling hazardous materials.
· Communication: Ability to understand and follow instructions and effectively communicate with the maintenance team and port authorities.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests.
· Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and co-workers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
· The job takes place in a busy cruise port environment, which may involve outdoor work near the water.
· Painters may be required to work at heights on docks, terminals, and other structures.
· Due to the exposure to saltwater, the paintwork must be maintained frequently to prevent corrosion and wear.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
· Work may require employees to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
· Required to work shifts.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
