JOB SUMMARY
The Lagoon Technician Manager is responsible for the operational oversight of the lagoon system. The ideal candidate will also complete a variety of tasks which supports the efficient operations of the Engineering department at Celebration Key.

The Carnival Grand Bahama Investments Limited (CGBIL), a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc, is seeking a Lagoon Technical Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Lagoon Technician Manager is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Manage the operation of the lagoon system, including wastewater inflow and outflow management, aeration, and ensuring the treatment process is running efficiently.
- Manage and monitor the overall lagoon’s structural integrity.
- Manage the chemical inventory of the lagoon system and the replacement order.
- Manage lagoon technicians in lagoon work required for the maintenance and repair of lagoons.
- Assist in the supervision/operation of the lagoon technicians and assigned personnel, as directed.
- Clean lagoon and skim debris in water using net and vacuum.
- Empty and change lagoon filters.
- Manage complete water treatment and chemical analysis.
- Test chlorine and pH levels in lagoon water.
- Add chemicals (e.g., chlorine, acid) to maintain water quality.
- Repair underwater light fittings, cracks, leaks, and faulty equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all lagoons, spa, and waterfalls.
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance.
- Drain pools and water lines as needed (e.g., repairs, seasonal prep).
- Load and unload tools and equipment.
- Collect and record pertinent information.
- Manage ship-to-shore attendants.
- Performs any other job-related tasks assigned by management.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma.
- Maintenance knowledge preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience in pool and water treatment care.
- 3-5 years' experience with managing a pool/lagoon operation.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) required within 6 months of employment start.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests.
- Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and co-workers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be physically fit.
- Must have strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
- Ability to multi-task and think critically.
- Previous work experience preferred.
- Prolonged periods standing and working outside.
- Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds at times
- All island employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- Work may require employees to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be required to work shifts.
