Job / Advertisement Description

Responsible for delivering world class facility upkeep and cleanliness at Perfect Day CocoCay. This role is responsible to the detailed identification, reporting, execution, and follow up for maintenance and cleaning needs for Beaches, Facilities, and Furniture.  


This role ensures company, divisional, and site performance objectives are met or exceeded by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities personally or through Direct Reports. All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with Royal Caribbean International’s brand standards, SQM standards, USPH guidelines, environment, and safety policies. 


In accordance with Royal Caribbean International’s Royal Way, each Employee always conducts himself in a professional and courteous manner. This consists of physical and verbal interactions with Guests or fellow Employees and/or in the presence of Guest contact and Employee areas. 




Facilities Management & Cleaning 

  • Completes daily inspection of the entire site. Check for cleanliness and appearance in accordance with the company standards. Inform Operations Manager of areas of concerns (e.g. seaweed, fading furniture, aged equipment, etc.) and action all instructions. When required plan projects to detail clean or perform maintenance with Stakeholders.  
  • Practices the Managing by Walking Around Principle and actively assesses island cleanliness. Works with Operations Team to respond to any areas of concern.   
  • Conducts scheduled room inspections of all accommodations. Liaise with Technical team to ensure all maintenance and repairs are conducted as required. Complete checklist to ensure all rooms are checked according to standards. 
  • Conducts regular and routine inspections of back of house common areas to ensure facilities are maintained at suitable standards, this includes the gym, commissary and other BOH common areas. Complete checklist to report areas of concern and corrective action to Operations Manager. 
  • Monitors the cleanliness of all BOH areas and ensure areas are maintained to standards. Complete checklist to report areas of concern and corrective action to Operations Manager. 
  • Partners with Leadership to maintain a clean and organized BOH. Work with Technical and Inventory to identify appropriate storage facilities  
  • Devises cleaning schedule for lounge chairs and umbrellas at FOH areas. Work with Operations Managers to schedule resources to conduct periodic deep cleaning. Create designated cleaning and maintenance workshop to clean and maintain furniture, umbrellas, tables, etc.  
  • Understands and applies in work practice, environmental policies and procedures associated with the use of chemical for the cleaning operations. 
  • Maintains visual standard guidelines for furniture, signage, and equipment. Liaise with Technical to remove, repair, or replace any items that do not meet standards.  
  • Ensures all buildings are brightly painted and free of fading, marks, and/or chips.  
  • Works with Contractors and Technical Department to deliver projects aimed to enhance Guest satisfaction.  
  • Looks for opportunities to improve procedures and practices and develops positive changes to enhance efficiency.  


Equipment and Furniture Inventory  

  • Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies, tissue, water, paper towels, as per Operations Manager instructions. Provides inventory to Operations Manager to place orders.  
  • Maintains inventory of working equipment (i.e. rakes, auger, shovels etc.). Provides inventory to Operations Manager to place orders. Set up and organize a designated Operations Store for all equipment and supplies. 
  • Maintains beach furniture inventory, inclusive of wheelchairs, hammocks, and baby strollers. Provide conditional reports and ensures all repairs are tracked and completed.  
  • Conducts regular conditional reviews of all operations vehicles and liaise with technical team to ensure all equipment is maintained to operational standards. This includes but is not limited to all vehicles assigned to operations, inclusive of trams, dumpsters, tractors, forklifts, trolleys, etc. 


Beach and Walkway Maintenance 

  • Conducts periodic walkthroughs of beaches and walkways. Identify areas of erosion and areas where more sand is needed to enhance Guest Experience and Guest Safety. Inform Technical to add more sand and ensure work is done according to agreed timeframe.  


Conduct and Leadership

  • High School Diploma or equivalent vocational training.  
  • Five or more years of progressive employment in an operating department in resort, hotel, ship, or themepark.  
  • Two or more years of experience onboard cruise ships or resort with knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment, and chemical handling is preferred. 
  • Two or more years of experience operating a provisioning transportation operation and/or Guest transportation program for a resort is preferred.  
  • Previous exposure to international environments strongly preferred.  
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.  
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.  
  • Proficient computer literacy. 
  • Ability to manage an international staff in a positive and productive manner by motivating, developing and managing Employees as they work.  
  • Required strong experience and proven track record of achievements in field. 



  • Displays proficient leadership abilities while working as part of a team to yield goal-oriented results.  
  • Previous exposure to international environments strongly preferred.
