Job Summary:

The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment. Identifying maintenance risks on equipment. The HVAC Technician diagnoses electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems such as refrigeration storage units, ice machines, and beverage equipment.

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Installing and maintaining industrial, residential, and commercial mechanical, air-conditioning, heating and ventilating equipment and control systems.
  • Installing climate control systems, refrigeration units and beverage equipment.
  • Repairing motors and service A/C systems.
  • Servicing equipment to the standard set by the company and manufacturer.
  • Ensuring equipment is functioning accurately.
  • Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems, vacuum cooling system, compressors, valves, pumps, and various other mechanical devices.
  • Carry out daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting refrigeration equipment failures.
  • Promoting a safe work environment; Complying with the safety competencies and all company policies.
  • Upholding environmental policies and procedures.
  • Distributing ice to each Department on ship days.
  • Any other duties assigned by Management.

 

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HVAC certification
  • Associate degree in the fields of HVAC, Industrial maintenance with HVAC courses, or equivalent work experience with course certifications is a plus.
  •  

SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics.
  • Advanced mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work outdoors.
  • Physically fit and able to lift at least fifty (50) pounds or more.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests.
  • Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and co-workers.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be physically fit.
  • Must have strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and think critically.
  • Previous work experience preferred.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be required to work shifts.
