Job Summary:

The IT Technician ensures that Celebration Key computer systems work effectively for streamlined operations. He/She install computer hardware and software, update applications and perform diagnostic tests and maintenance on computer components along with responsibility for maintenance of IT documentation and any other IT related activities on site (server and network infrastructure, end user computing devices, IT security, application deployments and upgrades, and advanced troubleshooting etc.,). Standard tasks involve interacting with Active Directory, SCCM, EPO, MDM enrolment and support, Wifi and VoIP troubleshooting and IT documentation. They will also interact with shoreside support teams through Incident, Change and Service Request tickets using email, chat and phone support. The IT Technician also interacts with other departments through Incident, Change and Service Request tickets using email, chat and phone support.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

 

IT Support

  • Serves as the first point of contact for IT support within the organization.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining software and hardware components of computer and network systems
  • Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components
  • Ensuring the security of client and server computers by installing and upgrading antivirus and firewall software
  • Supporting fellow employees, support teams and visiting technicians whenever they encounter challenges with computers and network devices.
  • Testing new hardware and software before full-scale installation

 

Maintenance

  • Maintenance and administration of network equipment, PCs, POS Terminals, and other end user computer equipment
  • Maintain the inventory for IT equipment.
  • Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly.

 

Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshooting in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office software
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.

 

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Assist with project rollouts and conduct quality control checks of new technology or enhancements to existing systems to ensure desired operability.
  • Support compliance with site IT policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Continuously assist with improving the IT team’s technical and customer service skills and join in collaborative discussions.
  • Assist the IT Supervisor with tasks as requested.

 

 

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma is required, associate degree preferred.
  • At least two years minimum experience with direct customer IT support

 

SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS:

 

  • Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with Cisco, Microsoft, and Linux
  • Knowledge of IT industry standards for security and anti-virus best practices
  • Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure and achieve targets.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Strong execution skills, ability to prioritize and take a structured approach.
  • Resourceful and adaptable/able to respond effectively and quickly to changing situations.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with shipboard officers and crew.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds of equipment for short periods.

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests.
  • Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and co-workers.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be physically fit.
  • Must have strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and think critically.
  • Previous work experience preferred.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be required to work shifts.
