Landscaper with Heavy Machinery

Job Summary:

The Landscaper is responsible for Operating lawn and gardening equipment, they will perform tasks with mid-size heavy equipment for digging trenching and lifting such as backhoes, bobcats forklifts. The Landscaper will be responsible for daily maintenance and routine check of equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Landscaper/ Heavy Machinery Operator is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

• Clearing and or Cleaning Beaches
• Operating a variety of heavy equipment such as backhoe, beach rakes, carts, skid steers, and other equipment needed for day-to-day operation.

Reporting & Maintenance

• 3 to 5 years as a heavy equipment operator in the industry
• Mechanical knowledge a plus
• Hold a valid driver license with a CDL or equivalent rating.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School or GED preferred.
• CDL license preferred.

SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge and ability to operate a variety of heavy equipment.
• Ability to follow established safety procedures.
• Mechanical abilities to repair a plus.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: 

• Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests.
• Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and co-workers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Must be physically fit.
• Must have strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
• Ability to multi-task and think critically.
• Previous work experience preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  

• Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be required to work shifts.
