Job Summary:
The Assistant Concessionaire Manager assists the Concessionaire Manager in overseeing all third-party shore excursions, retail outlets, and food and beverage services operations. This role involves coordinating with third-party vendors, ensuring high standards of guest service, and maintaining effective operations across all areas. The Assistant Concessionaire Manager will play a key role in ensuring that all aspects of the concessionaire operations run smoothly and efficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Concessionaire Manager is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Operation and Team Management
- Assist in managing day-to-day operations of retail outlets, food and beverage services, and shore excursions
- Help coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure that all services are delivered according to agreed standards and timelines.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of third-party partners, addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to address any facility or equipment issues promptly.
- Ensure that all external staff meet the company’s service standards and adhere to operational protocols.
- Address staffing issues and performance concerns with third-party vendors as needed.
- Assist with general requests for information, assistance and/or complaints from guests and escalate to Concessionaire Manager.
Compliance & Quality Control
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.
- Assist in liaising with third-party shore excursion operators to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure that all concessionaire services, including shore excursions, food and beverage, and retail, deliver a high-quality guest experience.
- Address and resolve any guest complaints or issues related to third-party services effectively and professionally.
- Ensure that all third-party operations comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of third-party facilities and services to maintain quality standards.
Reporting & Maintenance
- Complete work logs and report any issues to the relevant Head of Department.
- Use data insights to drive continuous improvements and strategic decision-making.
- Maintain food standards for concession stands and assist with quality assurance of those programs.
- Advise any guest challenges immediately to the Concessionaire Manager.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in hospitality, retail, or concession management, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in managing third-party vendors, food and beverage services, and retail operations is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate with external partners effectively.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations relevant to food service and retail.
- Experience in a cruise or resort environment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems; familiarity with reservation and excursion management software is a plus.
- Fluency in conversational English
- Customer-focused approach with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and adapt to changing priorities
- Food handler’s certification.

- Hands-on experience leading preventive maintenance efforts, asset management, failure mode and effects analysis.

This position will ensure that each stand is adequately stocked and staffed to service guests with ongoing monitoring to ensure prompt service.
