Job Summary:
The Food Supervisor will play a key role in overseeing food operations and collaborating with third-party beverage vendors to ensure a seamless and high-quality guest experience. The Food Supervisor will manage the quality of our food operations by coordinating closely with third-party food vendors on the property. They will ensure that food preparation and service meet our high standards and work with external vendors to deliver an outstanding dining experience for our guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Food Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Operation and Team Management
- Oversee daily food preparation and service operations, ensuring that meals are prepared to high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Monitor food stations and dining areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper stock levels.
- Address any issues related to food quality or service promptly and implement improvements as needed.
- Work closely with third-party beverage vendors to ensure that their products and services align with our food operations and quality standards.
- Coordinate with vendors to integrate their offerings seamlessly into our dining services, addressing any challenges or discrepancies that arise.
- Conduct regular evaluations of third-party vendor performance and provide feedback to ensure consistency and quality.
- Ensure an exceptional dining experience by addressing guest inquiries, handling complaints, and ensuring satisfaction with food and beverage service.
- Gather and analyze guest feedback to make recommendations for improving food service and overall guest experience.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to address any service-related guest concerns or issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for kitchen and food service staff, as well as third-party vendor staff.
- Monitor food storage and preparation procedures to prevent contamination and ensure food safety.
- Assist with general requests for information, assistance and/or complaints from guests and escalate to Guest Experience Manager.
Compliance & Quality Control
- Uphold environmental policies and procedures.
- Promote a safe work environment; Comply with the safety competencies and all company policies.
- Adhere to the company’s standards regarding dress and appearance.
- Extend appropriate greeting to all guests and crew at every opportunity using their names.
- Always apply hospitality standards in guest and crew areas.
- Follow all safety regulations during duty.
- Follow all environmental, company and HESS policies and procedures as applicable for the position.
- Oversee food depot operations and presentation to ensure quality, efficiency and safety of guests and team members.
Reporting & Maintenance
- Complete work logs and report any issues to the Concessionaire Manager.
- Maintain food standards for depots and assist with Inspections and quality assurance.
- Management of all food vendor performance contracts and timelines.
- Advise any guest challenges immediately to the Guest Experience Manager.
- Assist the Concessionaire Manager with tasks as requested.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in culinary arts, hospitality management, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food service or kitchen management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety standards.
- Proven experience in managing relationships with third-party vendors and ensuring service quality.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in standard office software and point-of-sale systems.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and food handling regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft office suite skills.
- Strong understanding of technical operations.
- Food handler’s certification.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests.
- Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and co-workers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically fit.
- Must have strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
- Ability to multi-task and think critically.
- Previous work experience preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
