Water Sports Rental Attendant

Job Summary: 

Assist guest with the rental of Kayaks, Paddle Boards and other water sports equipment. Deliver & pickup water sports equipment. Explain proper safety rules and guidelines to guests. Ensure riders out in the water are following our safety rules and guidelines. This position will report to the Marine Operations Supervisor, Celebration Key.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Water Sports Rental Attendant is responsible for, but not limited to the following: 

  • Supervising the front desk or welcome area to ensure a smooth flow of patrons entering and exiting the center.
  • Managing rentals of all water sports offerings
  • Maintaining the rental equipment with regular cleanings and inspections.
  • Managing the inventory and taking note of stocks, order requests, and deliveries.
  • Answering patrons' questions and resolving customer complaints swiftly according to company guidelines.
  • Assisting patrons with special needs to use the rental equipment, or to enter/exit the area safely.
  • Overseeing company safety programs and policies and attending to patrons in need of minor medical assistance.

 

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in water sports, hospitality, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or recreational role, preferably in water sports or a similar environment.

 

SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS: 

  • Strong knowledge of water sports equipment and safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle physical tasks related to equipment management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations.

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with employees and guests.  
  • Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers and co-workers. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Must be physically fit.
  • Must have strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and think critically.
  • Previous work experience preferred.  

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
