Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Attendant will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining various areas of the resort, including the beach, pool, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. The Housekeeping Attendant will play a key role in ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Clean and maintain the beach area, including removing towels, trash, debris, and ensuring cleanliness of beach loungers.
- Ensure the pool area is clean and tidy, including the pool deck, loungers, and surrounding areas.
- Break down and set up of lounge chairs on the pool deck and beach.
- Manage towel distribution to guests.
- Clean and sanitize public areas, including restrooms, hallways, lobbies, and dining areas.
- Ensure all public spaces are presentable and free of litter and debris.
- Restock supplies in public restrooms and guest areas as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in back-of-house areas such as storage rooms, staff break rooms, and service corridors.
- Assist with the disposal of trash and recycling in designated areas.
- Clean and sanitize staff restrooms and other back-of-house facilities.
- Ensure guest areas are clean, well-stocked, and welcoming.
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Assist with special cleaning projects or events as assigned.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests, responding to any inquiries or requests in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Participate in training and meetings to stay updated on cleaning procedures and resort policies.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role is a plus, but not required.
SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS:
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures related to housekeeping and cleaning.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with employees and guests.
- Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers and co-workers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically fit.
- Must be able to lift atleast 50lbs.
- Must be able to bend and stretch.
- Must be able to stand outdoors for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to complete tasks efficiently.
- Must have strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
- Ability to multi-task and think critically.
- Previous work experience preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
