Job Summary:
The Lifeguard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily aquatic safety operations of Celebration Key and the staff of lifeguards who assist them in the daily functions. They will be an integral part of the Operations Team who ensures we provide safe, clean, family friendly aquatic fun for guests. The Lifeguard Supervisor oversees/coordinates the lifeguard team to ensure the standard of work is upheld. The Lifeguard Supervisor maintain active surveillance on the beach/pool area to ensure ocean, beach and pool safety is being enforced by the lifeguards and followed by our guest.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Lifeguard Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Responsible for assisting the Assistant Water Safety Manager in the direction and administration of the lifeguard team.
- Provide direct oversight and supervision for all aquatic areas by enforcing safety rules, supervising guests & swimmers, rendering first aid/emergency care and monitor lifeguard performance expectations, attendance, and attitude. Act as a role model for staff in always presenting a professional attitude and appearance.
- Supervise the team of lifeguards and ensure everyone adheres the rules and regulations. Assist with lifeguard scheduling, onboarding, and training.
- Act as shift leader, monitors breaks, rotations, communication. Ensure daily logs and checklists are recorded and maintained accurately.
- Act as a team leader in case of emergency, directs lifeguards in the best possible way to conduct the rescue and accommodate guest in distress. Conduct coaching and discipline sessions as needed. Conduct daily stand-up meetings, ensure team is ready for the day as well as keeps team engaged and motivated.
- Create and promote safety culture within the lifeguard team React calmly and immediately to emergency situations and administers proper care. Ensure that our team is compliant with all the training as well as safety regulations required by Star Guard Elite. Make recommendations for changes and improvements in operations, training, staffing, policies and procedures, and other areas.
- Test Rides the slides prior to opening to ensure slide safety.
- Assist the Lifeguard Manager with tasks as requested.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Internationally recognized lifeguard certification
- Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a water safety environment in a hotel or related industry.
- Fluency in conversational English,
- Guest Facing Experience
- Customer service experience gained in a similar role is required.
SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized accounting and payroll systems.
- Ability to effectively communicate with and lead large diverse groups of people.
- Proficiency in all lifeguard skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
- Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests.
- Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and co-workers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically fit.
- Must have strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
- Ability to multi-task and think critically.
- Previous work experience preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
