Job Summary: 

The Technical Storekeeper will manage the inventory of technical supplies and equipment. They will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of technical items, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained, and supporting various technical departments with their material needs.

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technical Storekeeper is responsible for, but not limited to the following: 

  • Receive, inspect, and record technical supplies and equipment deliveries to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, tracking the quantity, condition, and location of technical items.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor stock levels of technical supplies and equipment, anticipating needs and ordering replenishments as necessary.
  • Implement and manage an effective stock rotation system to ensure the proper use of materials and prevent obsolescence.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to manage orders, address any issues with deliveries, and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
  • Organize and maintain storage areas for technical supplies and equipment, ensuring they are clean, secure, and easily accessible.
  • Implement and enforce proper handling procedures to prevent damage or loss of inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in the storage and management of technical items.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Prepare and submit regular inventory reports to management, highlighting stock levels, usage trends, and any issues or discrepancies.
  • Ensure that all documentation is properly filed and accessible for auditing and review purposes.
  • Provide support to technical departments by fulfilling inventory requests, managing requisitions, and addressing any material needs.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to understand their requirements and ensure that necessary supplies and equipment are available and in good condition.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance or repair activities by ensuring the availability of required technical items.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in the handling and storage of technical supplies and equipment.
  • Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or compliance issues to management promptly.
  • Participate in safety training and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • All other duties assigned by manager.

 

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in technical management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in inventory management, with a focus on technical supplies or equipment.

SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS: 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and standard office applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
  • Knowledge of technical supplies and equipment, with the ability to identify and assess their condition and usage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing support and service to technical departments.
  • Ability to work independently, handle physical demands of the job, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to create reports and documentation skills.
  • Analytical and Numerate Skills
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Working knowledge of:
  • Swimming hazards; Beach Hazards; Pool hazards
  • Lifeguard training techniques
  • First aid and Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests.  
  • Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and co-workers. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Must be physically fit.
  • Must have strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • All island employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency.
  • Ability to multi-task and think critically.
  • Previous work experience preferred.  

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
