  • Hires, Terminates, Coach, Develop, Trains, Recognizes, Promotes, Disciplines and Rewards subordinates.
  • Supervises the Engineering Department's daily responsibilities inclusive of the Operations Manager, Asst. Operations Managers, and Asst. Shift Engineers.
  • Maintains working knowledge of Industrial Agreement and Disciplines Line Staff in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Monitors daily work assignments, productivity, and standards.
  • Attend Daily Executive Morning Line Up.
  • Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
  • Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
  • Prepare budgets, bids, and contracts, and direct the negotiation of research contracts.
  • Ensure proper communication verbal and written.
  • Ensures sound safety habits and adhere to all safety components, and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitors/Supervises special projects specific to renovations, maintenance weeks, electrical, plumbing, painting, golf carts, gates, signage, leaks, alarms, furniture, refrigeration, air conditioning, heater, boilers, etc.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all Tourism, Labour, Building, Environmental, and Licensing protocols.
  • Maintains and Familiarizes the Resort's Leadership with all property blueprints for lay out of the resort in the event of an emergency.
  • Participate on the Hurricane Preparedness Task Force as one of the property's safety coordinators.
  • Prepare and Lock Resort Property down in response to a natural disaster or hurricane.
  • Prepare insurance reports to the standard of the resort to ensure that the claims process is managed efficiently and speedily in the event of a hurricane or natural disaster.
  • Inform Executive Management of all safety concerns that may pose a hazard to employees, and guests.
  • Manage the external vendor pool and ensure that all of the relevant systems are maintained and appropriate logs are submitted.
  • Conduct a routine inspection of all property systems and ensure that all preventive maintenance actions are taken and logged to ensure continuity in the consistency of when the inspections and maintenance occur.
  • Maintains adequate par levels of supplies to ensure efficient departmental operations.
  • Maintain adequate records on the purchase of supplies and equipment for the management of department.
  • Collect all vendor receipts and submit them immediately after work is carried out on the property. All work requiring repair must be approved by Executive Management and billings submitted within the active month of the repairs.
  • Monitor Espresso-Hotsos System on company provided equipment.
  • Ensure that all Operations Managers and Asst. Shift Engineers have assigned radios at the start of the shift by doing a radio check. Test all Radios once per month. Liaise with ITD to repair failed devices and report all failed devices to Security Managers.
  • Liaise with Resort CallCenter (Dispatch) to coordinate and allow for efficient flow of information and work.
  • Use good judgment and instruct managers to change the order in which work should be done due to safety or special considerations.
  • Assist in the completion of any calls that cannot be handled routinely by the tradesperson.
  • Follow up with Dispatch Manager for updates on all aging calls.
  • Monitor agreed trends and advise management accordingly
  • Have a thorough understanding of documented Emergency Procedures
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities to the standards set by the department and company.
  • Performs adequate information and timeliness of maintenance calls for Out of order Rooms or maintenance repairs.
  • Proactively walk and inspect the resort property and address any maintenance concerns on/ before Executive Walk.
  • Perform other duties as required for the good of the operation
  • Work with other departments to ensure proper call volume occurs to minimize guest inconvenience.
  • Develop trend reports to help pin point problem areas as they begin happening.
  • Attends important meetings and provides required feedback in the event of a crisis or project management process.
