Position Title: Beverage Manager Beverage Manager Reports To: Food & Beverage Operations Outlet Manager Responsibilities:To assist the outlet manager in managing the outlet as a successful independent profit center, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction in consistency with Grand Hyatt Baha Mar's and Hyatt International Standards, The Bar Manager supports the Outlet Manager in overseeing daily bar operations, ensuring high-quality service, maintaining inventory, and achieving financial targets. The Bar Manager's goal is to enhance guest satisfaction through excellent service, manage staff effectively, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with campus Beverage Manager to create seasonal cocktail menus
- Train servers and new bartenders on proper bar procedures, new spirits and cocktails.
- Follow recipes using proper and contemporary techniques. Craft and create seasonal cocktail menus, and meet specific deadlines based on the role.
- Create, prepare and maintain house-made syrups, shrubs, tinctures and bitters.
- Lead tasting and cocktail/spirit presentations to upper management and special groups.
- Menu maintenance and formatting.
- Provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company as required.
- Creatively assists other outlets in special events, cocktail creation, and general education of new spirits on property.
- Help to create, adjust and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP's) for bar staff, helping to achieve efficiency and top-quality output in their roles.
- Be able to meet deadlines on time.
- Learn the configuration of our POS system to update pricing for beverage and menu items.
- Show up on time to all meetings, events, and shifts.
- Ensure proper food handling and cleanliness practices are followed both behind the bar and in storage areas.
Qualifications:- High school/ Secondary school diploma or official equivalent. Additional training/certification(s) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience bartending, preferably in an upscale or fine dining environment.
- Ideal candidates will have at least one (2) years of bar management experience.
- Level 1 sommelier/WSET certification preferred (possible opportunity to attain upon employment).
- Strong spirit and classic cocktail knowledge. Ability to research and stay in touch with current liquor and cocktail trends.
- Experienced in using percentages and pricing menu items based on cost and spirit rarity.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills; must be able to engage with a wide variety of guests and interact in a friendly and professional manner.
- Proactive; exercises good judgment; can creatively problem solve and anticipate needs of guests; keen attention to detail with a focus on quality and service.
