Technical Specialist - CUP and Core (CSHS)

The Cup and Core Technical Specialist must demonstrate knowledge of all facets of energy facility operations and maintenance. Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and P&IDs, write routine reports, solve practical problems, make competent decisions in emergency situations, clearly communicate tasks and needs, and training of other personnel. Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to do reaching, climbing lifting (up to 75 pounds), walking and stooping.

Required Skills/Experience

• A minimum of ten year's relevant experience
• five years in a skilled trade is required.
• Formal training in energy or process equipment and systems
• demonstrated track record of successful goal achievement
• Supervisory and or Management experience are a plus

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain the facility in a safe manner by ensuring that all safety procedures and policies are included as a priority in the work process
• Provide direct supervision to other members of the maintenance team. This may include working stations or split shift depending on maintenance work schedule.
• Assist with daily operational efforts on mechanical and electrical systems. This may include working rotating shifts depending on maintenance work schedules
• Account for daily work order status and ensure associated work is completed and work orders closed in a timely manner
• Assist in daily work schedule activities and provide outage planning.
• Assist in purchasing and procurement activities within the maintenance section.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems, determine corrective action, and perform required maintenance.
• Provide input for training and development opportunities for the team to ensure appropriate skill sets.
• Provide on the job training as required to advance knowledge base of maintenance personnel.
• Manage, accountability and control maintenance work tools.
• Provide interface and direction for contractor personnel.
• Demonstrate effective supervisory skills in meeting or exceeding maintenance goals and objectives.
• Ensure that maintenance performed on system and equipment is in accordance with good operating and maintenance practice (LOTO, equipment maintenance protocol etc...)
