An established local coffee company is seeking to hire a Supervisor/Manager to assist with the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Supervisor manages all operations of the coffeehouse, and reports to the Ownership team. According to the company, the Supervisor is responsible for modelling and acting in accordance with The Company’s guiding principles and ensuring that employees are following the same mandate.
- The Supervisor oversees coffeehouse operations at all times. They are responsible for opening up and closing down and ensuring the coffeehouse is secure at all times.
- The Supervisor manages employees to ensure that their assigned responsibilities are being completed quickly and efficiently (baristas, kitchen team and stewards), delegating tasks, training as needed, and developing positive relationships with the staff.
- The Supervisor is expected to ensure that beverages and food items are provided to customers in a timely fashion, and maintain the highest quality offerings that are representative of The Company’ s brand standards.
- During times of high volumes, the Supervisor is expected to remain calm and handle all matters in a professional manner, while assisting to quickly and efficiently manage the operational flow.
- Ensuring proper cash management and cash register policies is another important function of the Supervisor’s role. They will manage all cash drawer transactions to include opening at the beginning of the shift, accurately balancing at end of shift, generating sales reports, processing refunds and exchanges, etc. They will also be responsible for making bank deposits as necessary.
- Educates customers on speciality coffee and various brewing methods, and suggests menu options based on their individual preferences.
- The ability to lead and motivate a team is essential to the Supervisor’s role. They should recognize the accomplishments of staff members with positive reinforcement. They should also implement disciplinary action when required.
- Delivers outstanding customer service to all customers, with enthusiasm and a winning smile.
- Suggests feedback to Ownership team on ways to improve efficiencies and overall operations of the coffeehouse.
- Acts as back up coffee-house support for baristas and kitchen team as required.
- Be available across a seven-day work week (to include events which might fall outside of the coffeehouse business hours).
