An established local coffee company is seeking to hire a STEWARD.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Steward is responsible for the cleaning activities of the back and front of house area. Maintains the kitchen, dish washing and back area in an inspection-ready condition in accordance with local authority and property guidelines.
• Attends to the needs of the areas, in relation to cleaning or any observation in order to keep the facility in optimal condition.
• Ensures that the kitchen and/or coffee area is clean, well maintained and organized at all times.
• Ensures that floors are dry and clean at all times.
• Requests the cleaning materials required for maintaining the areas in a timely manner (to be tracked on the Kitchen inventory).
• Reports any anomalies or damage to the Kitchen Supervisor or any other manager-on-duty.
• Ensures the proper set up of all side stations on the property.
• Ensures cleaning schedule is adhered to and to the required standard.
• Cleans, sanitizes and closes workstations.
• Relocates furniture and equipment when required by the needs of the property.
• Ensures bar and kitchen equipment is correctly stored.
• Assists in light food preparation as directed by the Kitchen Supervisor or any other manager-on-duty.
• Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, utensils, and other small equipment routinely used in the kitchen or barista area following established procedures.
• Ensures waste bin area is kept clean and tidy.
• Collects and removes trash from all areas of the operation following established procedures.
• Assist the Cooks and Baristas as and when necessary.
• Keeps the bathroom area clean, with the necessary material supplies.
• Provides support in the assembly of the kitchen, coffee and retail area.
• Provides the necessary supplies in the coffee area.
• Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen or barista stations.
• Stores food, baristas supplies, retails and any received deliveries accordingly.
• Complies with special food handling requirements for certain dishes such as vegan or gluten-free
• Approaches every task assigned with vigor and zeal.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to all customers, with enthusiasm and a winning smile.
• Be available across a seven-day work week (to include Louis & Steen’s events which might fall outside of the work location’s business hours).
• Any other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor or any other manager-on-duty to assist with the overall operations of the work location and other areas of the business.
