Outline of Role

As QA Checker, you will be responsible for performing final checks in multilingual translated files for potential issues and compliance before delivery to the clients. Mainly covering Europe/US timezones

Main Duties

  • Manual QA checks: check multilingual translated files to ensure they comply with instructions and consult native speakers when suspecting that issues may be present in the final files
  • Automated QA checks: run QA checks using tools such as Xbench, Checkmate, QA Distiller and verify that the issues flagged have been correctly fixed by the translation teams
  • Instructions: create QA instructions for the translation teams
  • Issues follow-up with translation teams: follow up if issues are still found after re-delivery
  • Proactive approach: actively contribute to the improvement of QA processes, identify issues, and propose solutions
  • Escalation: escalate issues as necessary to the PM team ensuring serious issues are addressed in a quick and effective manner before they escalate further
  • Work closely with the Venga PM team: flag to the PMs as early as possible if any issues can impact the deadlines and if any translation teams are repeatedly underperforming

Skills Required

  • Attention to detail (critical)
  • Understanding of common issues introduced by translators
  • Strong computer skills with an understanding of macros, scripts batch file processing
  • Advanced find/replace knowledge (regex knowledge is a plus)
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Be a team player
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Fluent in English and at least 1 other language
  • Interest in languages
  • Knowledge of CAT and QA tools
  • Good understanding of files formats and structure
  • Previous experience in Localization (2 years)
