Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Is in consultation with the Laundry Director, performs all departmental functions scheduling, payroll, reprimand and performance appraisals etc.
  • Provides any necessary training to ensure all colleagues are meeting or exceeding productivity, quality and safety standards. Also, maintains, records and monitors the productivity and efficiency of each associate and work area within the department; taking the necessary action should those standards not be met.
  • Ensures colleagues are kept abreast of departmental communications by planning monthly meetings.
  • Stocks and issues buggies with linen to each floor based on needs per linen inventory.
  • Ensures that soil linen is removed from floors and basements areas.
  • Ensures that colleagues' sorts, counts and stock linen on shelves provided.
  • Inspects linen quality and maintain a record of all discarded linen.
  • Conducts briefings with colleagues to maintain standards and reports on issues and changes.
  • Communicates daily with Housekeeping and Food & Beverage Managers on linen concerns.
  • Ensures that daily linen inventories are completed on the floors and requisition is sent to the Laundry by 3-4pm daily.
  • Ensures that linen rooms are secured daily and through the day. In addition, coordinates valet pick-up & delivery are done, also inspects return garments. 14. Ensures work area is kept clean and shelves neatly stocked.
  • Ensures that all equipment is properly functioning within the department, report all malfunction to Director in a timely manner.
  • Performs other reasonable duties as may be assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:

Education
  • Minimum of 2 years college degree
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience required
  • Minimum of 1 year hotel or restaurant management experience preferred but not essential
Skills
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Able to work with a diverse workforce
  • Able to work flexible shift as required
  • Excellent communication skills
Technical Skills
  • Computer literate
Certificate
  • Food Handler's Certificate, First Aid and CPR
