Academic Scholarship Information
Scholarship Range:

$19,000 – $23,000 per year

Maryville College has a strong scholarship program for international students and all admitted degree-seeking international students receive a scholarship. You will automatically be considered for the highest possible amount. All scholarship funds are credited toward tuition payments.  Your scholarship is automatically renewed for up to four academic years (8 fall/spring semesters), provided that you maintain a satisfactory GPA, act as a cultural ambassador on campus, and reside on campus.

There is no financial aid to cover living costs, fees, books, and miscellaneous expenses.  For visa purposes, most students need to show approximately $29,400 – $33,400 in available financial support for the first year of their studies.

Scholarships are based on academic performance and potential, as determined by school records and/or test scores.

Follow these simple steps to apply for admission, for scholarships and to learn more about MC.

  • Submit an application for admission.
  • Send your high school transcript, including senior year courses, and test scores.
  • No formal scholarship application required for the Academic Scholarships, it is considered part of the college application process. Students who qualify will be notified. Additionally, after a student is admitted, they may apply for the Competitive Fellowships/Scholarships/Awards listed in those sections below.
  • Arrange a campus visit to learn as much as you can about the MC experience.
  • GPA = weighted
    SAT/ACT scores include superscore; SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Math)
    CLT = Classic Learning Test
PROGRAM & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FINANCIAL VALUE

International Presidential Scholarship

Minimum 3.8+ GPA (Grade Point Average)

$23,000 per year on-campus.  $19,000 per year off-campus. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 3.0 GPA.

International Dean’s Scholarship

Minimum 3.5+ GPA.

$22,000 per year on-campus. $18,000 per year off-campus. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.75 GPA.

Maryville College Scholarship

Minimum 3.0+ GPA.

$21,000 per year on-campus. $17,000 per year off-campus. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.5 GPA.

MC Scots Scholarship

Minimum 2.7+ GPA.

$19,000 per year on-campus. $15,000 per year off-campus. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.0 GPA.

To compete for these fellowships and/or scholarships, follow these simple steps:

  • Submit application for admission
  • Send your high school transcript, including senior year courses, and test scores
  • Review the requirements for the available fellowships and scholarships listed below. Once a student has been admitted, they will be given the opportunity to select the fellowship(s) and/or scholarship(s) for which they are eligible.
  • Complete the application(s) via their MaryVille Portal (MVP).
  • Arrange a campus visit to learn as much as you can about the MC experience.
PROGRAM & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FINANCIAL VALUE

International Diversity Scholarship

Awarded to a first-year international student who has a demonstrated record of outstanding academic achievement, character and leadership and a clear plan for contributing to the international community on campus. Application and phone/skype/Zoom interview required. Required to live on campus.

Full-Tuition
Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full- time study with a 3.0 GPA and leadership participation.

McGill Scholarship/Fellowship

The McGill Scholarship is awarded to 5 incoming first-year students with combined minimum 30+ ACT or 1390+ SAT or 92+ CLT and 3.8+ GPA and demonstrated leadership abilities. Required to live on campus.

Music Scholarship

Open to music majors based on individual talent. Recipients are required to participate in a related music ensemble.

Mountain Challenge Fellowship

This Fellowship is awarded to student leaders interested in developing their leadership skills while taking part in one of the South’s premier outdoor adventure programs. 24+ ACT or 1160+ SAT or 76+ CLT and 3.0+ GPA

$24,000 per year on-campus. $19,000 per year off-campus. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.75 GPA during first year and 2.85 GPA in second and third year.

Equestrian Team Scholarship

Equestrians riding/showing for a minimum of three years preferably at three-foot fences or higher 24+ ACT or 1160+ SAT or 76+ CLT and 3.0+ GPA

$24,000 per year on-campus. $19,000 per year off-campus. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full time study with 2.75 GPA.

Art Scholarship

Open to art majors based on individual talent.

Theatre Scholarship

Open to theatre majors based on individual talent. Prefer at least two years prior participation in theatre productions. Recipients are required to participate in theatre productions.

Scots Science Scholarship

The S3 Scholarship is awarded to First-year students who are seriously considering majors in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics, including pre-professional and licensure tracks.

$870 award to attend the summer program and a minimum scholarship of either $21,000 per year on-campus or$16,000 per year off-campus. Renewable with 2.75 GPA

Isaac Anderson Fellowship for Church Leadership

Student leaders wanting to explore their goals of work and calling in light of their Christian faith. Minimum combined 26+ ACT or 1240+ SAT or 81+ CLT and 3.5+ GPA.

Chapel Fellowship

Students with experience and interest in leading worship, especially music in services. Recipients will be active participants in chapel leadership through the Center for Campus Ministry.

Church and College Fellowship

Active members of the Presbyterian Church (USA) or the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Recipients are committed to providing three hours per week of volunteer service to local Presbyterian churches.

$2,500 per year. Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.0 GPA.

ALANA Cultural Diversity Award

Underrepresented students with leadership potential, academic promise, and the ability to contribute to cultural diversity. Recipients required to participate in related campus organizations.

Up to $2,500 each year.  Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with 2.0 GPA.

Instrumental Music Ensemble Award

Non-music majors based on individual talent. Recipients required to participate in a related music ensemble.

Choral Award

Non-music majors. Prefer at least two years prior participation in a high school chorus. Recipients required to participate in a choral ensemble.

MC Playhouse Award

Non-theatre majors. Prefer at least two years of prior participation in theatre productions. Recipients are required to participate in theatre productions.

Up to $2,500 each year.  Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full-time study with continued involvement in theatre productions with 2.5 GPA.
