Solar System Installer

Compass Solar Systems Limited (“Compass Solar”) is seeking contract worker Solar Installer Level - 1 for the construction of commercial and utility scale solar systems in the Bahamas and the Caribbeans.

Compass Solar is looking for independent Contractors that have a proven commitment to safety, are accustomed to working outdoors.

Key Responsibilities

• Use appropriate hand (i.e. wrenches, torque wrenches, Allen Keys) and power tools (i.e. drills, threading machine, grinders, saws) to fit and install all types of materials and components for a solar systems
• Measure and cut materials with degree of supervision
• Assist Level 2 & 3 Solar Installers with assigned tasks
• Load, transport and unload materials to job site
• Help install solar racking system in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications
• Maintain a clean job site
• Install roof attachments, L-feet and rails
• Hoist solar panels from ground to roof
• Secure solar panels on racking with mid and end clamps
• Tighten of bolts to the proper torque specifications
• Receive/stock materials and maintain accurate inventory
• Assists with installation of solar inverters and rapid shutdown devices
• Assist with electrical scope of works for solar installation
• Maintain tools used for installation in proper working condition
• Follow safety policies and procedures and report any accidents and near misses to team lead
• Comply with company code of conduct and site policies
• General cleanup of materials and debris
• Perform all other job related duties as requested by team lead

Qualifications

• Experience with construction projects preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used on solar construction projects
• Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
• Ability to squat, crawl and work in awkward positions/confined spaces
• Unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back, visual acuity, depth and color perception
• Proven commitment to safety and teamwork
• Self-motivated with the ability to work well with others
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Age 18+
• Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
• Pay rate is determined on current level of knowledge and experience
