Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year + of Cook experience in a restaurant preferred
  • Hospitality/Tourism kitchen experience preferred

Physical Requirements

Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 30 lbs, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down and remain stationary at times throughout work periods.

Description of Responsibilities

Rosewood Baha Mar's Cook 1 will work together with Cook 2 and the Sous Chef to assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of all food items, based on standardized recipes. This individual will ensure all guests' expectations for their resort dining experiences are exceeded. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize dynamic culinary skills to ensure guests are "wowed" by Rosewood Baha Mar's delicious food
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment including proper storage of food, cleaning equipment, utensils and implements etc.
  • Assist Cook 2 and the Sous Chef in the preparation and cooking of extraordinary dishes in adherence with the standardized recipes
  • Exemplify high standards of food hygiene and follow established health and safety regulations
  • Check supplies and know product availability, preparation, nutritional and storage aspects
  • Ensure that menu mix meets varied guests' dietary needs and requests
  • Proactively support all hotel restaurant tactics always adhering to company policies
  • Document waste and spoilage and minimize by rotating foods in freezers
  • Immediately report any security, maintenance, housekeeping issues to management
  • Suggest new techniques of service for maximum guest satisfaction at minimum operating costs
  • Ensure total compliance with Rosewood Baha Mar's standards of operation
  • Stay current on hospitality best practices and industry trends
  • Perform other duties as assigned
