Description of Responsibilities
- Must be neat and clean in appearance and physically fit to perform the duties
- Previous experience in a similar role
- 1+ years of kitchen experience preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel restaurant
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressured environment
- Maintains a \"sense of urgency\" attitude for the completion of responsibilities/tasks
SLS at Baha Mar's Steward will work together with the Executive Steward and is responsible for ensuring that the kitchen is clean, well maintained and organized at all times. The Steward will also maintain a proper level of clean inventory with a high standard of cleanliness according to the sanitation code. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Clean dishes, silverware and glassware with the dish machine
- Keep cooks line fully stocked.
- Keep glassware organized and silver polished
- Assist in the breakdown and clean-up of all banquet functions
- Keep garbage area clean; breakdown and sort recyclables
- Must be able to work in a team environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds safely. Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Performs other duties as required to provide genuine hospitality.
- Maintains supply of clean dishes, glassware, silver, etcetera, for all outlets listed.
- Dish machine cleans dishes, silverware, and glassware by operating dish machine.
- Places bus pans in cook's line; cleans dirty dishes as needed.
- Assists in the breakdown of banquet functions; washes dishes of functions.
- Maintains a clean kitchen environment by assisting kitchen personnel in following standard cleaning practices.
- Monitors trash levels in all cans and removes when needed.
- Attend to detail and ensure that work accurate, thorough, and to the highest standards
- Demonstrates personal ownership of tasks and follow through to get the required results.
- Performs other duties as assigned
