Reports to:       Sous Chef

 

Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar’s Chef de Partie will work together with the Sous Chef to oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals to ensure employees’ expectations for their employee dining experiences are exceeded.

What you will also have already accomplished:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years+ of kitchen experience in a restaurant, hotel or related field
  • Hospitality/Tourism Chef de Partie experience preferred

Description of Responsibilities

Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar’s Chef de Partie will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals to ensure employees’ expectations for their employee dining experiences are exceeded. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize dynamic culinary skills to ensure employees  are “wowed” by Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar’s delicious food
  • Ensure all aspects of baked food preparation, cooking and presenting of dishes adhere to guidelines/customer preferences
  • Liaise with kitchen staff and restaurant management regarding customers’ orders and general service of kitchen operations
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment to include proper storage of food, equipment, utensils and implements etc.
  • Perform daily temperature checks of fridges, freezers, storage areas, deliveries and conduct assessments where necessary
  • Ensure high standards of food hygiene and follow established health and safety regulations
  • Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins 
  • Know product availability, preparation, nutritional and storage aspects
  • Uphold the highest standards of courtesy and conduct exceeding expectations
  • Proactively support all hotel restaurant tactics always adhering to company policies
  • Document waste and spoilage
  • Immediately report any security, maintenance, housekeeping issues to management
  • Suggest new techniques of service for maximum guest satisfaction at minimum operating costs
  • Total compliance with Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar’s standards of operation
  • Stay current on hospitality best practices and industry trends
  • Perform other duties as assigned
