Reports to:       Stewarding Supervisor


Grand Hyatt’s Steward will work together with the Stewarding Supervisor to maintain all aspects of the entire employee kitchen cleaning, including front and back of house operations, inventories and sanitation.

What you will also have already accomplished:


  • High School Diploma
  • 1+ year of experience in Stewarding preferred
  • Hospitality/Tourism  experience preferred


Description of Responsibilities

Grand Hyatt’s Steward will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of the entire kitchen cleaning, including front and back of house operations, inventories and sanitation.  Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


  • Provide dynamic services to ensure guests are “wowed” by Baha Mar’s hospitality
  • Keep kitchens, workrooms, and equipment clean and in order
  • Ensure clean, efficient, and economical food service by dish washing and silver cleaning in timely manner
  • Follow stewarding strategies of excellence aligned with the company’s overall mission, vision and values
  • Coordinate the storage, inventory, maintenance and usage of all related stewarding supplies and equipment
  • Reports shortage and request replacement of dishes and equipment
  • Ensure that recyclable materials are correctly separated
  • Follow methods for improving efficiency and guard against theft and waste
  • Adhere to the  maintenance and sanitation of food areas, including inventory, in strict compliance with health code ordinances
  • Assists in the breakdown of banquet functions; washes dishes of functions.
  • Proactively support all stewarding tactics always adhering to company policies
  • Uphold the highest standards of courtesy and conduct exceeding expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
