Communicates with and assist food servers to maintain service efficiency and ensures guest satisfaction. Maintains cleanliness of and restocks front of house area.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure that guest interaction is efficient, expedient and personalized.
Receive assigned service area from waiter at start of shift.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the front of the house including all tables, and chairs.
Restock dining room with china, silverware, glassware, utensils, condiments and linen, and maintain adequate supplies in the work station when dining room is open.
Prepare beverages required for service including coffee, iced tea and hot water.
Set up all tables as required by restaurant standard prior to and during service ensuring that all service utensils are clean and free from cracks, chips, fingerprints and food remains.
Complete all pre-shift side work, ensuring that side stands are fully stocked and cleaned.
Greet guest as appropriate after they are seated in assigned area. Serves water, rolls and butter to guest. Refills as needed.
Check regularly, refill and clean salt and pepper shakers, sugar bowls and condiments as needed.
Communicate with hostess and wait staff to maintain service efficiency and ensures guest satisfaction.
Assist wait staff in serving tables during rush periods. Remain in assigned stations during shift observing assigned tables and attend to guests needs.
Ensure side stands are clean, organized per restaurant standards at the end of the shift.
Ensure a complete knowledge of menu terminology and service standard.
Remove dirty dishes and silverware from guest tables and between courses and after guest leaves the table.
Replaces used dishes and silverware for the next course, and resets vacated tables.
Returns dirty dishes, silverware and glassware to dishwashing area, sorting silverware, glassware and other items, placing them in the prescribe area for proper clean.
High school diploma or equivalent vocational training
Minimum of 1 year restaurant experience
Good communication skills
Food Handler’s Certificate
