What you will also have already accomplished:

  • College degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred
  • (2) Two to Four (4) years of Human Resources experience or Operations Management preferred

Description of Responsibilities

SLS at Baha Mar’s Assistant Director of Human Resources will work together with the Human Resources Director and is responsible for oversight and leadership of issues related to Employee Relations and Labor Management, this is a primary and critical responsibility for this position.  The position is also responsible for leading the recruiting function for the Brand; recruiting, interview & selection, follow up to hire and onboard and management of the budget management related to the staffing levels and reconciliation with budgeted levels of staffing.

  • Oversee all employee relations and labor-related matters as they relate to local employment laws
  • Conduct complex human resources investigations as they relate to discrimination, sexual harassment, and other employee related matters
  • Support day to day process in Human Resources and assist the Director of Human Resources in implementing hotel strategy, including but not limited to, coaching and counseling, recruits, engagement, training, on-boarding, benefits and hiring and retaining the best employees
  • Clearly communicate, distribute and interpret (where necessary) human resources policies and procedures while ensuring that proper compliance follows
  • Manage termination process and unemployment compensation
  • Maintain new hire, termination, transfer and promotion tracking
  • Process paperwork for terminating employees
  • Ensure compliance with all HR and related Security stand operating procedures
  • Train, motivate, evaluate, mentor and direct employees and managers to meet desired results
  • Maintain excellent relations with staff and maintain staff and guest and associate confidentiality at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned
