Job Description

Join our DTEC Team in the Baha Mar Resorts, Nassau, Bahamas. The Electrical Control Technician shall provide the following support services to all facilities operated by DTEC Plant Services Ltd: 

  • Assist Facility Managers with analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving electrical control system problems associated with electrical supply infrastructure at the facility.
  • Support the administration of the company’s facility change process to assure that required facility changes are performance enhancing and cost effective, and help ensure that the changed system is appropriately tested, facility operators are trained, technical documents are updated and all executed changes are accepted by the facility staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate plant electrical control system performance to assure facility reliability and readiness to maintain compliance with electrical system control aspects of periodic facility performance evaluation..
  • Support implementation and ongoing use of the DTEC’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) with respect to electrical and control systems. Assist all facility managers with the execution of the Preventive and Corrective Maintenance activities when needed.
  • Periodic review and update of each electrical control system’s Preventive Maintenance Program, in conjunction system control improvements..
  • Establish and oversee the all training aspect of current and future electrical control system improvement for DTEC maintenance and operating staff.
  • Perform periodic thermo-graphic monitoring and recording of all major electrical equipment to help identify corrective maintenance requirements prior to experiencing equipment damage or failure. Develop and publish thermographic inspection reports.
  • Manage and maintain facility distributed control systems, protective relay settings, programmable logic controller functionality and arc flash regulations compliance


  • Masters in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Five to Ten plus years electrical engineering experience, preferably encompassing design, construction and plant operations.
  • At least 3 years of electrical and controls testing
  • Familiarity with NETA standards and their applications in the power industry

The Electrical Control Technician shall be able to demonstrate the following abilities: 

  • Communicate intelligently with others, including written and verbal communication with company operators and management, clients, contractors and equipment and outside service suppliers. Proficiency shall encompass technical, administrative and financial.
  • Understand overall plant power system operations, electronics  and latter logic programing of electrical control systems
