PRIMARY JOB OBJECTIVE Assist team members in accomplishing Meat Departmental goals. Assist the manager and supervisor by ensuring that all meat products are properly merchandised and stock is replenished on a consistent basis. You are required to ensure that all meat cases and backrooms are kept clean and sanitary at all times.   KEY JOB TASKS Planning Involves packaging meat inventory to satisfy market demand. Check and organize backrooms to know what quantities are on hand.  Keep abreast of holidays to ensure that meat, fish and poultry market demands can be met and advise accordingly. Communicate frequently with the Meat Manager/ Supervisor towards this end.   Merchandising Attractively merchandise meat products with clear variations in prices to provide customers with choices.  Rotate meat inventory ensuring first in first out (FIFO). Re-work and repackage meat inventory as often as necessary. Replenish meat cases and coffins before each shift, during lulls and at the shift end. Assist with ‘on the job’ training initiatives.   Receiving Assist with the receiving of all meat related products to ensure accurate counts, condition of inventory, and the proper and timely storage of all meat inventories.   Loss & Damage, Shrink Intervention Proactively address over/under ordering of meat inventory. Maintain an organized backroom and storage area, incorporate FIFO method. Promptly and accurately, record and report all meat write-offs after receiving approval from the meat manager/ supervisor.   Minimize Safety Risks –Thorough clean up all meat cases and backrooms (sanitation) daily. Oversee frequent checks for expiration dates. Adhere to all Policies, Procedures, and safety rules; only butchers and supervisors are allowed to operate machinery.         Requirements Experience necessary Computer literate High School Diploma Health Certificate from Food Handler's Clinic   Key Competencies Clear understanding of departmental objectives Ability to multi-task Human Relation skills Flexible and resilient; able to handle peak periods   Success Factors Reliable Organized Creative Goal-driven Energetic
