Position Summary: The Technical Storekeeper is responsible for the purchasing and inventory functions and assists in developing and controlling the budget and cost control. Technical Storekeeper is responsible, under the direction of Assistant Site Engineer and Site Engineer, for the proper handling of all spare parts and materials. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Be advised that RCL places the highest value on the environment, and all employees shall do the same. Those assigned to this position shall work with superiors and subordinates to understand and comply with the company's environmental policies and be committed to safeguard the environment. He shall directly and immediately inform his immediate superior if he becomes aware of any system that does not comply with RCL policies. The Duties of the Technical Storekeeper are to be addressed and carried out under the direction of the Assistant Site Engineer and Site Engineer. Assists in the functions regarding Technical Procurement (Purchasing), Inventory, Budgeting and Cost Control directly related to AMOS. Follows the policies and procedures for Inventory Control (cycle counts, physical inventories, order picking, etc.) and Returns (landed goods - LGA processing). Generate all Requisitions Forms (except Service Requisition Forms). (Division/Department Heads will approve these forms) Communicate directly with the RCL’s Technical Purchasing/Logistics Department shore-side regarding AMOS Requisition Forms, Queries and Purchase Orders. This will be achieved via e-mail, Lotus Notes “Sametime”, and when necessary, via telephone. Communicate directly with vendors when necessary. Continuously will follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery of the product. Assist Department Heads with budget proposals. The Technical Storekeeper shall place in request all parts necessary for the storeroom for Division Heads final review and approval. Provide input to the Department Heads related to stock requirements. These duties include maintaining an orderly and rational storage system, continual updating of spare parts, materials, and consumable stores in AMOS. Issue a weekly inventory list for chemicals stored in chemical locker and/or additional Technical spaces. Clearly label all parts and tools. Check In & Out parts and tools. Check deliveries against purchase orders for accuracy and updating the Delivery Discrepancy Report (DDR) for the Site Engineer to submit to Supply Chain. Update AMOS to reflect that materials are physically received as promptly as possible, in cooperation with the Site Engineer. Adequate protection of all parts and tools in storerooms. Clearly marking all reconditioned spare parts. Shall keep oxygen and acetylene storage in correct and good order. Additional routines and work as assigned by Site Engineer. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Extensive understanding of AMOS, as well as other extended Office Applications used within RCL. It is a must to have a working knowledge of the Intranet, and the budgetary / account model. General knowledge of the Marine/Technical environment. Knowledge of the Inventory Management philosophy Possess a minimum of 3 years experience within Cruise-Ship Onboard in the Marine/Technical environment. Good interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of management and employees are necessary. Working knowledge of personal computers with associated financial software and communication packages. Technical Background and training is an asset. Physical Demands: All island employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency. Must be able to stand in the sun and endure external elements during work assignment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work Environment: Outdoors may be required to walk in extreme humid and hot conditions.
